Round robin writing

We have been enjoying different types of creative writing at the end of the day. Today we did round robin writing. One person starts the story for 3 minutes than passes to their friend for another 2 minutes to add to the story. The story is a collection of 4 kids.

Toothpick bridges

The kids are really enjoying designing and building bridges out of toothpicks.

Figurative language wrap up

Today we used our learning from the week to practice with several beautiful poems. We worked in groups with different roles and found forms of figurative language in the poem. 

Third grade concert

We enjoyed hearing the talented third graders this afternoon in their concert.

Today we are working on creating umbrellas with different forms of figurative language on each rain drop.

Figurative language jeoprady

Today we had fun reviewing figurative language with an online game of jeoprady. Each group had students partnered along with a show host. We worked on the iPad's with each group.

The kids have enjoyed learning in art this year. They have tried many new things.

Glue

A bit of a glue accident today.

Character traits

This week we have new learning about Gary Paulson and how he developed characters. We learned about character traits and wrote a scene that highlighted a trait. This morning we traded reading with partners and tried to guess the trait that was highlighted.

It was a fun way to share our writing!
